Linuxense Open source Initiatives

To extend the Free Software/OSS culture Linuxense is keen to share the knowledge and resources with the community. Linuxense, with this program, is primarily intended to promote Free Software and Opensource technologies for the well being of the society in the education front and in day-to-day life.
As part of this, during the development of commercial solutions, we identify code components which are of generic nature and would make them available to the Open source community. Also, Linuxense encourages its staff to attend seminars and submit papers.
Following is the result of such attempts:
  • Sarovar.org
Sarovar.org is India's first portal to host projects under Free/Open source license. This site is built around G-Forge (a fork of the SourceForge.net project) and runs on a Compaq server and located in the Asianet data center, Trivandrum, India. Sarovar.org is customized, setup and maintained by Linuxense as part of our community services.
  • JavaDBF
JavaDBF is a Java library from Linuxense for reading and writing XBase files released under LGPL. JavaDBF is hosted at Sarovar.org.
  • Malayalam Open Type Keli
Keli is a free opentype font for Malayalam. This was designed by P.M. Hashim. The font is freely distributed by TUGIndia. The font tables are distributed under GNU GPL. The glyph shapes are under LPPL. Download it here.
  • Malayalam True Type Font Keli
Original version of Keli as provided by P.M. Hashim distributable under the same terms of its Open Type version as mentioned above (including bold and italic variants). Download it here.
  • TEXDBI
TEXDBI --Connecting TEX to Database Servers This is a paper presented at TUG2002, the 23rd Annual Conference of TEX Users Group. It also has a reference implementation of the paper. More details can be found at TEXDBI home page.
